If youre looking to turn your 4th of July celebration into a red, white and booze blast, there are simple ways to make cocktails and mixed drinks perfect for the occasion. We've pulled together a list of some of our favourite patriotic beverages that are sure to be a hit with this Independence Day!
Ingredients
1 1/2 oz vodka
1/2 oz triple sec
1/2 oz blue curacao
1/2 oz sweet-and-sour mix
1 dash grenadine
Lemon Peel to decorate
Directions: Mix all ingredients except grenadine in shaker and chill. Pour into martini glass. Slowly pour the grenadine down the side of the glass and it will sink to bottom.
Ingredients:
2 oz white rum
1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
10 whole mint leaves
3 whole strawberries
15 whole blueberries
1 packet of silver edible glitter stars
Directions: In a glass muddle lime juice, simple syrup, mint, strawberries and blueberries. Add rum and stir. Fill glass with crushed ice and top off with club soda. Garnish with a skewer of strawberries and blueberries and sprinkle edible glitter stars on top.
Ingredients:
2 slices watermelon (large slices, cut from rind)
1 bottle (4 cups) champagne
3/4 cup sugar (preferably fine like caster sugar)
10 whole star anise pods
2 1/2 cup water
Directions: To make the star anise syrup, put the sugar, star anise and water into a saucepan and stir over a medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Increase the heat slightly and boil for 7-8 minutes until thickened to a light syrup. Take off the heat and leave to cool completely. Puree watermelon, then strain the watermelon through a mesh strainer. Pour ½ cup champagne into each of four glasses. Add ¼ cup watermelon and ½ cup anise syrup to each glass. Optionally, serve with a watermelon star (cut with a cookie cutter) on the glass.

1 bottle Pinot Grigio
1 cup fresh strawberries (diced)
1 cup fresh blueberries
1 cup fresh raspberries
1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
1/2 oz fresh orange juice
Directions: Combine all ingredients in a pitcher and top with one bottle of Ginger Ale. Refrigerate overnight. Add some fresh mint sprigs. Serve and enjoy!

1 packet (3 oz) berry blue jelly
1 packet of Watermelon jelly
1 packet (3 oz) berry blue jelly
2 cups Malibu coconut rum
2 cups boiling water
8 oz heavy whipping cream
1/2 - 3/4 cup sugar
Directions: Boil 1 cup of water. Empty watermelon jello packet into a large bowl. Pour boiling water over jello powder. Stir until jello dissolves. Add one cup of coconut rum. Stir. Pour into shot glasses filling the glass only 1/3 of the way. Refrigerate for 4-8 hours or until jello is firm. Boil 1 cup of water. Empty berry blue jello packet into a large bowl. Pour boiling water over jello powder. Stir until jello dissolves. Add one cup of coconut rum. Stir. Pour into shot glasses over red jello filling the glasses only 2/3 of the way. Refrigerate for 4-8 hours or until jello is firm. In a large bowl, beat heavy whipping cream and sugar together until stiff peaks form. When ready to serve, top shots with whipped cream!
