Bob Bob Ricard’s intimate 74-seater Club Room extends to its Lower Ground Floor space, which boasts a club-like mahogany central floor to air the space out a bit. And true to Bob Bob Ricard form, a “Press for Champagne” button sits in every booth in case of any unsuspecting champers-related droughts. The upstairs restaurant’s optimum wine and champagne policy will continue downstairs, as will the Russian British crossover foods.

7. LIMA Floral

Located: 14 Garrick Street, London, WC2E 9BJ

Perfect for: Celebrations with family and friends

Fitzrovia’s LIMA has gone from strength to strength. Once a new face on the scene, LIMA quickly morphed into one of London’s best left-field eateries. It’s the work of Virgilio Martinez, a Peruvian chef who – back at home in Peru – runs a restaurant widely thought of as one of the best in the world. It’s his lab-like technique that keeps bums in seats. Some of this food simply hasn’t been seen in London before.

8. Hixter Bankside

Located: 16 Guildford Street, Southwark, London SE1 OHS
Opened: 30th July
Perfect for: All round eatery and late night hotspot

First Mark Hix brought us Tramshed in Shoreditch then Hixter came to the City. Both restaurants - where the choice is chicken or steak, to share - have proved so popular that a second Hixter has been brought to the Metal Box Factory, Bankside, round the corner from Tate Modern. The large 7,000 square foot Hixter Bankside also includes a Mark's Bar, similar to the original and award-winning Mark's Bar in Soho. Two private dining rooms for 8 to 50 guests are the perfect way to feast with friends from a range of private dining menus.

Tanya Alekseeva or Raw Tanya as she is known, is one of the leading detox and raw food experts and now she is opening a raw food café in My Hotel Chelsea. And it’s healthy, super healthy,  open for breakfast, lunch and serving small plates in the evening, drinks include Matcha latte and medicinal mushrooms; whilst for lunch forget your usual lasagna they’ll be serving up a walnut meat, pesto, marinara, cheese and courgetti (like spaghetti but healthy!). There’s even a chocolate section on the pudding menu which you don’t have to feel guilty about!

Next door will be a deli selling the best things in life, for us it's the flourless chocolate fudge cake – see you in the queue.
