For super-rich trendsetters who want to stay a cut above in the fashion stakes, Rolls Royce has unveiled a limited edition designer version of its sporty Wraith fast-back. But expect to pay around £350,000 for the privilege of driving the ultimate luxury 'designer label' version of the car!
Customers wishing to buy one of the very fashionable automobiles are invited to the car company's Bespoke Design Studio at Goodwood where they 'draw inspiration from colour palettes, materials and techniques used in the world of high fashion' to create a blend of power, style and drama. The power and drama are helped by the twin-turbo-charged 6.6 litre 624brake horse-power V12 engine linked to an eight-speed automatic gearbox which propels the Wraith from rest to 60mph in just 4.4 seconds with a top speed electronically limited to 155mph.
The idea of making a car attuned to fashion follows the history of Rolls Royce: When they first started making cars, Sir Henry Royce and his partner, Charles Rolls, would build them near Savile Row and urge their customers to have their coaches finished with trimming to match favourite suits and gowns.
