From what us Brits can work out, Thanksgiving is basically Christmas. Just a month early. Its a practice that is pretty alien to us here across the pond and admittedly, most of what we know comes from episodes of Friends. As far as we can discern from Monica, Rachel, Ross, Phoebe, Chandler and Joey, people play touch football and we all have to wear fez- sporting turkeys on our head. Cranberry sauce is apparently important also.
Well actually, that is not too far from the truth. A long history aside, Thanksgiving is about the 3 fs: food, football and family. Oh, and giving thanks. Sounds like fun, eh? Its the perfect excuse to chill out, relax and just eat. And we need no invitation to do any of those! The best part is you can celebrate this traditional American holiday here in London with many bars and restaurants putting on Thanksgiving events across the capital.
To make things a little easier, we've picked out the best venues and events in London at which to celebrate Thanksgiving 2015 on the 26th November 2015.
A final word of advice: make sure you wear your scretchiest maternity eating pants. Youre gonna need them.
