BRIT AWARDS 2017 - Sintillate Round Up

Feb 23rd 2017 | entertainment | lifestyle | london | Written by Kris Kretovs

The Brits never disappoint. Falling houses, ITV hijacked, stage dives and Stormzy making a storm! Last night the O2 was taken over be celebs, singers, songwriters and grime artists. Let's not forget about two giant puppet skeletons - which closely resembled Trump & Theresa May.

With so much going on, we couldn't help but keep watching. Here are some of the most memorable experiences from the show.

- Katy Perry Brought The 'House' Down!

Katy Perry sang her new single surrounded by moving dancers that were dressed as houses. While they moved in sync, two skeletal mannequins which resembled Theresa May and Donald Trump stalked across the stage.

However, just as the crowd was rocking we think 'Storm Dorris' made an entrance through the O2. As one the houses got 'whooshed' of their feet. The dancer seemed to misplace their feet and fall straight off the edge of the stage.

- Tribute to George Michael

There was a lovely tribute paid as the three remaining members of Wham! appeared on stage to giving the audience a lump in their throat. Pepsi and Shirlie choked back the tears as they remembered their "beloved friend", while Andrew Ridgeley said it "felt like the sky had fallen in". One remake stood out and we all know what connection he had to the industry - "Music has magical power and George knew that".

- Collab Of The Year

Ed Sheeran performed his new track 'Shape Of You' before giving the crowd an unexpected guest. Stormzy came out rocking, remixing the current number one single with Ed.

After the performance, Ed announced the duet would get an official release this Friday.

Stormzy seemed overjoyed about being on the stage, tweeting: "One of the greatest days of my life thank you all love you all love you bro @edsheeran ❤️❤️❤️ #BRITs2017."

- Grime Had A Shocker

Grime artist's last night went away emptied handed, and even fans think they got dealt a short hand. Grime artist Skepta was one of a handful of acts invited to perform live during the Brit Awards - but fans of the rapper were outraged after large portions of his performance were censored due to swearing.

The rapper, whose last album Konnichiwa was awarded the 2016 Mercury prize. Yet there was little respect as fans posted the contrast with the host Dermot O'Leary being let off. He introduced the performance by saying  “everyone go bats**t crazy for Skepta."

Talking about winners, let's go through all the people that picked up an award:

- David Bowie Took Gold
